Amarillo BBQ Location’s Latest Status After Fire Closed Them Down

Back in March Crazy Larry's on Teckla had a fire. That fire that happened in the kitchen has kept them closed ever since. The community has really missed them and is ready to get some of their great barbecue. Our city is having some withdrawals.

We were hoping that they would be able to open like they anticipated on September 3rd. That was their goal date. So I saw a lot of chatter on social media wondering if it was really going to happen. The day came and went.

I still saw people giving updates. Amarillo residents were trying to call. Several were driving by hoping to see cars in the parking lot signaling that they were open for business. The phone lines were busy and the parking lot was still empty.

There were several posts in the Amarillo restaurant review pages giving us the news that they were still closed. Yes, we were hoping for better news. We know how delays around here happen. Most of the time it is not the fault of the business.

They want to get open just as much as we want them to be back for business. For Lucky Larry's that just has not happened yet. They are still working on getting their delicious barbecue to us. They are just having to wait.

According to a post I saw on social media a family member reached out to her aunt who is one of the owners. The news is that they were waiting on several factors. They are pretty much just in the hurry-up-and-wait phase of getting open. The fire marshall and the health department are just two of the delays.

If you do drive by you will see on their sign that they are thanking Amarillo for their support. Crazy Larry's knows that they are ready to have them back and they are ready to open their doors. Hopefully, the wait is almost over.
