I know it seems like the kids just got back to school in Amarillo from the Christmas break, and they have. Don't get too comfortable dropping them off every morning because there is another day coming up when they get to stay home.

I know it happens every year that the kids are out for MLK Day, but it is so soon after the Christmas break that some parents forget. So here is your reminder. There will be no school, mail delivery, or bank services on January 19th.

So with that being said, what are your plans for that day? Can you take a day off to hang out with them? Are you ready to use up a day of PTO already? You could say you will just take them to your backup daycare. Some daycares are also closed. I know my granddaughter's is.
Discovery Day Camp: Weather Wonders Theme
So what do you do now if you don't have any family in town to help out in situations like this? I mean, that would be nice. I never had family around and always wished I had backup like that. I didn't, but the Discovery Center is here to help.
