I know it seems like the kids just got back to school in Amarillo from the Christmas break, and they have. Don't get too comfortable dropping them off every morning because there is another day coming up when they get to stay home.

A Crucial Reminder: School and Bank Closures on Jan 19

I know it happens every year that the kids are out for MLK Day, but it is so soon after the Christmas break that some parents forget. So here is your reminder. There will be no school, mail delivery, or bank services on January 19th.

So with that being said, what are your plans for that day? Can you take a day off to hang out with them? Are you ready to use up a day of PTO already? You could say you will just take them to your backup daycare. Some daycares are also closed. I know my granddaughter's is.

So what do you do now if you don't have any family in town to help out in situations like this? I mean, that would be nice. I never had family around and always wished I had backup like that. I didn't, but the Discovery Center is here to help.

If your kids are out of school on MLK Jr. Day, or if your children are already out of the classroom and need new ways to keep learning interesting, you can book a half-day or full-day of discoveries.

Plus, SAVE if you register for five-day camp sessions through the rest of the semester!

You can guarantee that the kids will have a fun day without you needing to blow through your PTO so early in the year. They will be playing and learning. But you don't have to tell them about the learning part. It can be our little secret.
