Ok, since we're getting a Buc-ee's (finally) in Amarillo, the next moves in a lot of residents minds are to build up a Costco and an H-E-B. Costco seems to be the one that everyone wants to see pop up in the city, but there's never any rumors of it actually ever coming into the city.

So that one I feel like is just on everyone's wish list of things they want to see. H-E-B is a totally different story however, and rumors are constantly running rampant that they're going to finally build one in Amarillo.

In a Facebook group recently, someone posted that H-E-B had purchased land in Amarillo to build one, and everyone got completely riled up. As the excitement comments started popping off like crazy, so did the questions.

Where did they purchase land? When are they planning on starting construction? Everyone was just beaming with excitement and questions. However, the original poster hadn't posted anything to provide proof that they had purchased land and said that's just what she'd been told.

Deeper into the comments we go, and we find a poster that said H-E-B has actually owned land in Amarillo for some time now, but like we've heard before, they won't build here until they have a distribution center in Lubbock.

That project hasn't begun either, so as of right now, there is no hope Amarillo sees one pop up. There was one person that posted a good question though. How come Lubbock has H-E-B but no distribution center? What's the difference?

Now THAT is the question we should probably be asking ourselves. However, it seems we can go ahead and put these rumors to rest. There is no H-E-B coming to Amarillo any time soon.
