A Classic Amarillo Event Returns: Balloons Fill the Sky Again
There are some events that have come and gone from Amarillo. We know they will never come back, but it doesn't keep us from talking about them. We miss Funfest in Thompson Park. We miss the Block Party in downtown Amarillo.
Amarillo’s Lost Events We Still Miss
There have been more, but those two get talked about a lot. Then, as the year keeps going and we start seeing people heading to Albuquerque for the balloon festival, we think back. Didn't we use to have an event that brought hot air balloons to Amarillo?
We did. The most recent one was the Up in the Air balloon rally. You would be able to find hot air balloons all over Amarillo. It was always such a sight. You would find people discovering the balloons in the air as social media was flooded with photos. That was another great time in Amarillo a few years back.

Schedule of Balloon Launches and Glow
Wear your best Halloween costumes, trick-or-treat from hot air balloons, peruse food trucks and vendors, and snuggle up close with your friends and family to watch the spectacular display of over 20 balloons glowing in John Stiff Park at 7 pm.
This is a two-part event, split between morning and evening festivities. Balloons will launch from John Stiff Park in the morning, beginning at 7 am, and will return later that evening to inflate once more. Pirates of the Park is free and open to the public.
