One of the biggest headaches for parents in Amarillo once school starts back up is holidays. Those random days when the school is closed. It’s those once-a-month headaches that get thrown at parents.

The Struggle of Holiday Childcare in Amarillo

Yes, a calendar is provided early on so that you can figure things out. They try to make it a bit easier. At least it is not thrown at us a week before. Though some parents are so overwhelmed with activities and homework that they may not realize it until a week before.

What do you do with the kids when school is closed? If you are lucky enough to have family in town, this is not really a problem. I never had that luxury, so I could never count on them to help out.

Labor Day is the next holiday that the kiddos have off. The problem is that a lot of daycares are also closed. I know my granddaughter goes to one that is closed, so what do you do? You might work somewhere that doesn't automatically give you Labor Day off. If that is the case, you could be in a bind in a couple of weeks.
