Amarillo Loses It With Mention of Local Favorites Possible Return
Every time I make a stop to Market Street I load up on the Leal's goodness. I get the chips. I grab the salsa. I even grab some queso. That is the closest we have been to having Leal's in Amarillo.
Ever since Victor Leal moved out of town and took Leal's with him I have been missing it. He was supposed to open a bigger location in the former Furrs location in Wolflin Square but Covid hit and took that away. The location in Wellington Square closed and that was it. Dang you Covid.
Over the weekend there was some chatter. Oh, Victor, don't tease us like this. Victor Leal made a post on social media that may have broken the internet. The thought of Leal's coming back. I mean the former location in Wellington Square is open again.
Chubby's, which was in that location, didn't last long. Before Leal's opened there the only good thing in that building was Gardski's. That is not coming back but hey, maybe we can get Victor to return. I know several people who would so be excited.
I know I would be there often. You don't know what you have until it is gone. However, I knew the moment they closed that was going to leave a hole in our hearts and our stomachs.
If the number of likes, comments, and even shares are any indication let's just say Victor, you got your answer. We would love to have you back. We would welcome you with open arms.
Yes, there is a location in Muleshoe. I know that. There is just something about being able to get all the greatness right in our backyard. I am ready for it.
Bring back Leal's to Amarillo, please.
