Keeping it simple is always the best way in Amarillo. We like to work smarter and not harder. So when something can be simplified, it creates less work and gives us one clean and easy place to go.

Having to manage social media pages can be a lot of work. You have to monitor each and every page for messages, for comments, and just update info on each and every one. So the fewer pages you have, the better.

Why Parks & Rec Is Simplifying

How does this all relate? It has been the decision of Amarillo Parks and Recreation to just make things as simple as possible for everyone involved. There used to be separate pages for the different areas they handled. So they had to update several places, and we had to go to different pages to be in the know.

Not any longer. They are keeping it simple and letting us know that they will only have one social media page to update and monitor. Now, everything we need is consolidated into one page.

Social Pages Being Consolidated

Just follow the main Amarillo Parks and Recreation page—it's now the only one. That is the only one they will be monitoring and updating. According to their most recent post:

To help keep all our information in one place and make it easier for our community to stay up to date, we are consolidating several of our Facebook pages.
Starting July 24, 2025, the following pages will no longer be updated or monitored:
  • Amarillo National Tennis Center
  • Charles E. Warford Activity Center
  • Comanche Trail Golf Course
  • Ross Rogers Golf Course
  • Thompson Park Pool
  • @amarilloparksandrec on Instagram
Please follow our main Amarillo Parks and Recreation Facebook page to stay informed about facility updates, upcoming events, programs, and more!

What This Means for You

This makes things much easier for everyone to just have to follow one page, and it makes it better. There is no chance of missing any fun event or important update in Amarillo. This is a great change.
