Who is not ready to make a splash this year? After all of 2020 being a total wash we are ready to enjoy our summer. It couldn't come at a better time. Growing up the city swimming pools were a big part of my life.

I miss those days of being a young carefree kid and having my mom drop me off at Southwest Park swimming pool for the day. Oh and I do mean the day. I think me and little sister got there when they opened and were probably one of the last ones to leave at closing time.

So here we are and the kiddos are on their last week of school. The countdown is on. So of course what is the plan with the pools this year? The announcement came from the Amarillo Parks and Recreation's Facebook page:

Memorial Day is coming in with a splash!
After missing our public pools last summer we are happy to finally be reopening both Southeast and Southwest Pools on Memorial Day, May 31st! (More on Thompson Pool Grand Opening soon!)
Standard hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 12:00-5:00PM, Saturday 12:00-6:00PM and Sunday 1:00-5:00PM.
Cost of admission is:
- $2.00 (Youth Ages 1-12 and Seniors 55+)

Snag your favorite swimsuit, stock up on sunblock and join us all summer long!
I can hear the collective cheer from both parents and kiddos. The pools are about to be open and everything is right with the world again. The pools are about to be open. We can all move forward with our summer fun.
