Sometimes, when you go out to eat in Amarillo, you want a little spice. That mouth-burning spice that makes you feel alive, even if your stomach protests later. You look for the hottest things you can.

Luckily, Amarillo has a lot to offer when you are looking for that extra little kick. There are burgers on the menu. You can start your meal with some spicy salsa. Sometimes you can even pick your level of spiciness.

There can be jalapenos added to your meal. The ghost pepper has become a popular addition. How about habanero? There are so many great spicy peppers we can use in our dishes in Amarillo.

For years, people have talked about the Burger from Hell out at Coyote Bluff. There have been mixed reviews on the spiciness, but apparently they have been dethroned and a newer burger place has swooped in with their new level of spiciness, waiver, and all.

Burgers are not the only way to get your spice. There are several places to go when you want to feel the heat. We asked and you told us about the spicy dishes of Amarillo.

Searching for Heat? Start With These Dishes

  • Hot A$% Burger - Charlie's Burgers and Brews - This burger dethroned Coyote Bluff from being the hot burger that everyone talks about. This is on their menu, but you have to sign a waiver before they will serve it to you. I have talked to many who agree that this is the hottest.
  • Atomic Wings - Wingstop - According to their menu, "It's the hottest we've got. Find out for yourself." So if you want hot wings, give Wingstop in Amarillo a try.
  • Spicy Curry - Indian Oven. If you want some heat, let them know at Indian Oven. Ask for your curry spicy and you will not leave disappointed.
  • Carne Guisada - La Frontera - If you ask for it spicy, that is exactly what you will get.
  • Spicy Peanut Chicken - Bangkok Tokyo - You want spicy? You got it at Bangkok Tokyo. They have their normal spicy dishes or you can ask them to make anything spicy. They will melt your face off if you want.
  • Fajita Burrito Plate - Jorge's Tacos Garcia - I love a restaurant that will spice it up as much as you want. That is what Tacos Garcia will do. They will start your meal off with a spicy salsa and then add as many peppers and spices to make your main course hot. Keep a full glass of water handy.

What do you think should have made the list? If you like spicy food, we want to know about your additions. The hotter the better.
