This Beloved Amarillo, Texas Attraction is Back for Spring Break

One of the things I loved doing when I was growing up in Amarillo was going out to play Putt-Putt. We had a few different Putt-Putt locations in Amarillo over the years. They have seemed to all come and go over the years.

There was a Putt Putt Golf on Western near 33rd Ave. We had a Lights Off Golf inside Westgate Mall. We could also head over to Sports World on I27 for years. When they moved in, Mesa Bar & Grill took over. They have since closed down, too. We still have the Putt Putt location at Wonderland Park when the park is open.

So that leaves us very few places to go out and enjoy putt-putt. Just the putt-putt inside Wonderland Park. Luckily, that may not be the only place for much longer. There is some excitement because the putt-putt out at Sports World, more recently Mesa, is making a comeback, for at least one week.

Amarillo's Sports World is Making a Comeback

The announcement was made recently on social media. Spring Break is going to be getting a lot more fun. Of course, this is all weather permitting. You know how our weather can be.

I hope this is something that sticks. Amarillo could use Sports World coming back. They were a staple for my daughter and her friends when they were growing up. It does seem promising with the recent announcement.

Let's hope that the weather is cooperative this Spring Break and that the kids and families all head out to enjoy putt-putt out at Sports World. Let's also hope that this fun family place comes back for good this summer in Amarillo.
