Amarillo Toy Store Hit By Closure After Recent Fire

When my daughter was growing up all those years ago we had a Toys R Us in Amarillo to visit for all your toy needs. We would go and walk up all of the different aisles. It was just one of the places we would visit. Then I discovered a toy store at 34th and Coulter.

I would then go there for any occasion. I loved the fact that it was locally owned and had a different selection of toys. It had unique toys that you couldn't find anywhere else in Amarillo. Then of course she grew up and I stopped visiting toy stores.

When my granddaughter was born my daughter told me about a toy store here in Amarillo that reminded me of the one I would visit when my daughter was little. So I was very interested to check it out. When we went to get toys and check them out I told my daughter this reminded me of that store I loved when she was little. I couldn't remember the name. I just remembered the location.

When we went up front we got to chat with the owner and that is when I found out that this was the exact same store. They just moved locations. It had so many great unique toys and that is exactly what the name of the store is, Unique Toys - 7820 Hillside Rd.

Recently I discovered that they are closed. Luckily it is just temporary. So I could not stop there before my recent weekend trip for my granddaughter's birthday. I was sad. Luckily though they will be opening up after they get everything situated.

I can't wait for them to be open again. The kids of Amarillo are missing out on some really great toys while they are cleaning up. We really hope they are back soon.
