A Simple Goal of 100 Cards: How Amarillo Shattered Expectations for a Local Hero
When Amarillo is given a task, I would say we are pretty good at completing it. We strive to make sure we go above and beyond. If you are given a task, why not do it the best way possible and exceed all expectations?

100 for 100: The Campaign That Captured Amarillo’s Heart
The Texas Veterans Land Board jumped in and helped with their 100 for 100 program. They started a campaign to get Charles recognized on his 100th birthday. The ask was simple. They wanted him to receive at least 100 cards on his big day.
This is Texas, of course, and everything we do is bigger and better. Of course, we wanted him to get way more than 100 cards. His birthday came this past Wednesday, March 4th, and Charles was blessed with way more.
The Fire Captain’s Surprise: Card Number 5,001
The Amarillo Fire Department was the first that I saw take to social media on Charles' big day:
Today, we had the honor of meeting Mr. Charles Elliott on his 100th birthday. He is a WWII Veteran and a retired Fire Captain. His wish was to get 100 cards for his 100th birthday. I think our card was number 5,001.
He also invited us to come back for his 200th as well.
Thank you for your service sir! Happy Birthday!!!
Texas-Sized Love: Why Amarillo Exceeds Every Expectation
I am proud of Amarillo and the area that went above and beyond. I guess that is just what we do. Good job, and here is to many more years for Charles to continue to share his stories.
