Amarillo We Ask For Kindness: Be Nice and Enjoy Your Food Quicker

I have been delivering food for both DoorDash and Uber Eats for a month now. I am getting to where I got this down. For the most part. There are still some things that drive me up a wall.

Oh, and there are things  that drives every delivery driver up the wall. Bad directions. We really want you to get your food in a timely manner. Nothing is worse than getting cold food. If you live in an apartment please help us out.

Please give us good directions. Give us the help we need to find you. We want you to eat. We really do. There are a lot of times that the GPS brings us to the total opposite side of where you live. That slows us down. That is not something you can help. We get that.

If we call you for a little direction help please be helpful. Trust us the last thing we want to do is have to call or text you. Sometimes if we don't it might be awhile before you see your food. Nobody wants that. Really.

You get very friendly people on the other end of that call and text. Those people we really appreciate. Then we get some jerks. Recently my GPS took me nowhere near where I needed to be for a delivery. I looked all around. I was wasting the time this food had to be fresh. So I called. I expected someone helpful on the other end.

I was told to look at the map. The map that I did not see. I looked for the apartment map too. I just told the customer not to worry I would find it. Why? Why would you not just say where your building is in connection to where I just told you I was at? Was this some way to test me? OK, that is fine. You will get your food when I can find you.

If you are wanting to show that you are superior to the person who is trying to get you your food. The food that you didn't want to go and get in the first place. I guess that is one way to do it.

Apartments can and are tricky. Save us the frustration. Be like this guy. This guy is great and got his food right away. This guy gave clear and perfect directions.

Even if there was any question on where his apartment was, oh and there wasn't, at least you knew he would be willing to help. We have a job to do. We want to do a good job. All we are asking for is a little help.

Apartments are not fun to deliver to and I always take a deep breath and get ready for my journey when I see a delivery is going to an apartment. Just help us out. Please.
