Patriotic Paws And Claws: Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary Celebrates America’s 250th
Amarillo has seen a few changes this year. One that has happened that we have fully gotten behind is the Amarillo Zoo becoming the Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary. They have become a non-profit.
With that change, it has brought more money into the facility in the form of grants and other opportunities. Along with new non-profit funding come fresh facility updates and creative leadership ideas.
A New Independence Day Tradition in the Panhandle
It's nice to follow the social media of the Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary and watch the things that are happening there. An upcoming new thing happening at the zoo is just going to be the cutest thing ever: an Animal Parade.
Parade Schedule and Special Guest Surprises
You're NOT going to want to miss this!
Join us at the Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary this Saturday, July 4th, for our very first Animal Parade!Parade begins at 11:30 AMHelp us celebrate America's 250th Anniversary with a patriotic parade featuring some of your favorite animal ambassadors from the Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary, along with a few surprise animal ambassadors from Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center!
The first 100 visitors will receive a special gift!Food truck on site! Please bring your own chair—we'll have designated viewing areas throughout the zoo.
While I'm incredibly bummed to be out of town for the holiday, I'm hoping this becomes a long-running summer tradition that my granddaughter and families across the Panhandle can enjoy for years to come.
Supporting the New Non-Profit Zoo and Sanctuary
There are no extra tickets required; the parade is completely free with your standard zoo admission. If you haven't been to the zoo since the ownership change, here is the perfect chance.
Honestly, very few things rival the charm of a patriotic animal procession.
We're putting the finishing touches on our parade lineup and will be announcing the participating animals soon.
Bring the whole family and celebrate Independence Day with us for a morning full of animals, smiles, and patriotic fun. We can't wait to see you there!
If you are looking for plans for the 4th of July, the Animal Parade is a perfect way to kick off the holiday.
