Amarillo’s Harrington House Getting Ready for Christmas Tour
The Harrington Home in Amarillo is definitely a sight to see. The home that was built in 1914 by a couple of cattlemen was purchased by Don and Sybil Harrington in 1940. Since then it has been transformed into the beauty it is now.
Once the Harringtons took ownership redecorating and refurbishing began, but no structural changes have been made to the house since it was completed in 1914. The Harringtons over the years traveled extensively and brought decorative and fine art back to Amarillo.
So to take a tour of this beautiful and historic home is something everyone should do. What better time than during their Christmas celebration? When the house is even more beautiful as it brings the Christmas spirit to our city.
The tours are absolutely free and takes less than an hour to check out three floors of the home. So the tours are going on every thirty minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can schedule your group HERE.
The house will be fully decorated for the holidays starting October 29th. This is a great way to start getting you in the holiday mood. There are plenty of great Christmas decorations and even the Harrington holiday party attire. A glimpse into the glamorous life of Amarillo.
Haven't you ever wondered how the other half lived? Are you curious and want to see a lot of Texas Panhandle History? The Harrington House at 1600 S Polk offers all of that and more - a chance to kick off the Christmas season.
The tours will continue until December 12th on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They will also have one tour day on a Saturday, November 9th for those that can't make it during the week. That day fills up fast so don't wait.
