An Amarillo Favorite Getting A Second Location With a Twist

A picture is worth a thousand words, even in Amarillo, right? So recently there was a photo posted and it said all that it needed to. If you live in the area you got the message loud and clear. Another location for this Amarillo restaurant.

Almost two years ago we not a new place on Sixth. It was a seafood restaurant with a lot of great Mexican food dishes too. The name is Mariscos El Big Boy. I wanted to give them a try so I took my family.

We ordered a lot from the menu and loved every bit of it. Now when my daughter comes for a visit she always asks to stop there. So when this was discovered we knew what this meant.

If you pay attention to the detail you will notice the artwork on the building.

You will notice that image is on a building on 6th that belongs to Maricos El Big Boy.

So they will either moving or getting a second location. So I reached out to the individual who was discussing this image on the building and he confirmed the news. Yes, this is a new location. I asked about the fate of the restaurant on Sixth and according to Victor:

This new location is going to have a different menu. The location on Sixth will feature all of the seafood dishes. The new location near I40 and Paramount will be more of a Mexican food restaurant. So two places, two menus.

I asked when they were looking to be open:

We’re shooting for the beginning of the year if not late February they’re still painting inside and doing a whole bunch of stuff in there. I can’t really do anything till they finish painting so I can bring in new tables and new chairs and install some kitchen equipment.

I had to pass this information on to my family so that once they open we can give them a try. My daughter is already excited to check them out.
