This has been a rough year for many businesses in Amarillo. It seems that every time we turn around, another one is closing. We have had several businesses and restaurants close this year. Before we ring in the New Year we are going to say goodbye to another restaurant in Amarillo

Twenty-two restaurants have made the list this year. That seems like an awful lot.  Another one is being added on December 29th. So just before we say goodbye to 2024 another one is sneaking in and on the list.

Mesa Bar & Grill took over the former Sport's World location near the Cinemark Hollywood Theater. They opened up during the summer of 2023. They had the city buzzing about the new place but that buzz didn't help a year and a half later when the announcement came from their social media page:

It looks like the announcement is not only taking away the restaurant and bar but also the kid's fun as well. According to the post:

We invite you to stop in for one last burger, tacos, go karts or round of golf before we say goodbye.

The go-karts and golf are going to be gone too. The good news is that we have some warning. Those closings are easier to deal with. We have time. This is not sorry, you missed us and we are closed. No, you have until December 29th.

Get by have a meal, grab a few drinks, or take the family to play a round of golf and a ride on the go-karts. Once the clock strikes the turn of the day on December 30th we have to say goodbye to Mesa Bar & Grill.
