Finally, There’s One Less Thing to Complain About in Amarillo
I almost am afraid to speak of such things. I just feel like I am going to jinx this, We have had the same complaint around Amarillo for quite some time and it seems that for at least the time being things are calming down.
We are throwing away money. We are wasting it on this one expense. We feel the cost should be cheaper. It is in other places. Just not in Amarillo. Not until now.
I know that the holidays will be here before we know it and we will be traveling more. This is bound to change. Oh, but for just this one moment in time, we are all starting to see some relief at the gas pump.
I know. When was the last time we had anything good to say about the price of gas? It has been quite some time. I went to Dallas in early October and I was amazed how much cheaper the gas was there. We have been very comparable every time I travel there. Not this latest.
Gas in Amarillo at that point was close to $3.35. I filled up right outside of Dallas for around $3.10. I was amazed. Even near my daughter's house in Dallas, it was not far off. So I was hoping it would be cheaper when I arrived back in Amarillo. Oh, it was not at all.
I have been slowly watching it come down in the past few weeks. I paid $3.05 and I was excited. I have one place I go to where the gas seems to be the lowest in town. So I take advantage. It has been nice.
The last time I went over the weekend it was $2.95. Woah, under that three-dollar mark. That hasn't happened in quite some time. Then you can even stack up the savings. I make sure I do.
I make sure I have rewards at Market Street for when I fill up there. I have Walmart+ too so I can save money at the pumps there. You can even save at the pump at Toot n Totum. The more reward members you can be the better chance of saving even more.
Of course, I am not the only one who has taken notice. The price below was achieved by using a fifteen-cent reward from Phillips 66. Still, an initial price of $2.96 is pretty nice right now too.
I am excited and hope this trend stays around for a while. I feel we deserve it so much.
