Social Media is obsessed with Baby Yoda. Toys featuring the instantly popular character from "The Mandalorian" have been in high demand since the show debuted on Disney Plus in November. A Baby Yoda toy from Funko quickly became a top-selling action figure on Amazon in early December, even though customers who preordered the toy will not receive it until May.

Amarillo’s Build-A-Bear at 45th and Coulter in Walmart will add the Baby Yoda character to it’s very popular line of soft customer made stuffed toys.

Build-A-Bear announced the news at the ICR Conference in Orlando this week, talking about how Baby Yoda was a no-brainer for them, and that they have been working on this essentially since the first episode of The Mandalorian debuted.

"I'm excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined," Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John said "We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda.”

John held up a stuffed Baby Yoda to show the crowd, only glimpsed in a photo.

From the pic, it looks like Build-a-Baby-Yoda is slightly bigger than the actual Baby Yoda in the movie, though perhaps not by very much. I’m not sure if there’s anything you can customize about him, as Baby Yoda is not exactly known for his accessories in The Mandalorian, but that’s exactly the nature of Build-a-Bear, so we’ll have to wait and see.

So now when should this arrive? Reports say Baby Yoda will arrive in the next few months, which lines up with other retailers estimated dates for their own Baby Yoda toys, though perhaps Build-a-Bear might get there first. Click HERE for the Amarillo Build-A-Bear store.
