I heard my daughter screaming from the other room. I ran in to see what danger I was going to have to save her from. I mean I will fight for her or my granddaughter like any good mom or Mimi would do. So I was prepared.

When I made it to the living room she screamed that there was a moth. A moth. This is what all the commotion was about? I ended up getting it to land on a pillow on the couch. I then scooped it up and threw it back outside where it belonged.

That is when it happened. Several other moths tried to make their way inside. It is officially time for the invasion of the moths, the 2023 addition. I remembered this being a thing last year.

How soon you really do forget. Once they left last year I totally forgot about that experience from last year. It was horrible. I would open my screen door and hundreds, maybe thousands, would fly out from everywhere.

I am not the only one experiencing this traumatic experience. I am not the only one who has been taken over by moths. Good ol' Amarillo is having a moth issue right now. Just scroll through social media and see how many other people are asking about this travesty.

It seems they have gotten worst and worst over the years. It has become a thing. A scary thing. This is how horror movies are made. Find something like a harmless moth and make sure there are millions attacking the good people of our city. I mean Alfred Hitchcock found a way to make us terrified of birds, right?

There really isn't a lot you can do about it. Just wait it out. Just like last year they will be gone in about six to eight weeks. Just try to be as diligent as you can to keep them out of your house.

That is all I can hope to have happen. Limit them from breaking and entering into my space. You can try to put a bucket was water with dish soap under a bright light. With the hopes that it will catch a lot of them a kill them.

Let them be and soon, or not so soon enough, they will be gone. We will forget all about this for another year. Let's just all get through this together.
