Butterlove Dinnerhouse Bids Farewell to Amarillo After Lease Ends
It seems every time we turn around these days, we find out about another closed restaurant in Amarillo. It's hard to believe we had several months without any news, and now it's been rapid fire.
Social media is where this restaurant turned to for this announcement. It seems the Butterlove Dinnerhouse at 34th and Bell gave us a day's notice and closed down over the weekend.
Butterlove’s Evolution: From Biscuits to Dinnerhouse
When they first came to the scene several years ago, they were Butterlove Biscuits, a breakfast/brunch concept. Then, about a year ago, they decided to make some changes and became Butterlove Dinnerhouse.

It was a pick-your-protein and get served endless sides concept. They opened to mixed reviews. Mainly because some didn't like the change at all. Butterlove Biscuits was an Amarillo favorite. There were also complaints about the pricing. It seems most people weren't happy with most places upping prices. Going out to eat has gotten expensive, so pricing was a factor.
Final Days: Closing Announcement and Lease Details
On Friday, they had a social media post letting Amarillo know that their last day of business was going to be on Saturday. Their lease was about to be up, and they were closing up. They did let Amarillo know that their other venture, The Ruffled Cup, was going strong and would continue.
What’s Next: Owners Relocate and Other Ventures Continue
They also said that they would be adding another location of this concept. It will not be in Amarillo, though. It won't even be in the Texas Panhandle. It looks like the owners will be relocating to Florida. Not a bad move, and I think family is the reason why.
So we said goodbye to Butterlove Biscuits last year. This year, it's the end of Butterlove Dinnerhouse. They wasted no time removing their social media presence, so we couldn't even include their words in this story.
The sweets will go on at The Ruffled Cup and we are happy about that.
