Is Amarillo ready for a second Chipotle location? We found out about a year ago that we were getting one—another location to add to Amarillo’s growing number of build-your-own burrito and bowl spots.

Another Fast-Casual Option Joins Amarillo’s Lineup

We have the first Chipotle. We have a Qdoba. We are about to get a Pony Express location in Amarillo. We also have the local choice of Sharkey's Burritos. So if you want to build your own, we have plenty of options.

We do love our options here in Amarillo. It has been about a year ago that we found out about the second Chipotle moving into the empty Arby's location near Hillside and Coulter. That area needs more options for the build your own burritos and bowls. They are about to get it.

A Telltale Sign That Opening Day Is Near

The good news is that it has got to be getting close to opening because the biggest telltale sign is the big banner that they put up on the fencing around the worksite. The banner that is sure to draw the attention of anyone driving by.

That banner is letting Amarillo know that they are hiring. Of course, once the hiring is done they will start the training. That has to all be done before they open but it is getting closer.

Now hiring banner up at new Chipotle.

What This Means for Amarillo’s Food Scene

Amarillo is about to add another build-your-own burrito and bowl option.  We are about to have our second location of Chipotle. Another close place for you to have food for delivery as they are on all of the delivery apps.

This is all good news for Amarillo. The growth we have seen is only looking up for the area and for our city. That empty Arby's building will not be empty much longer as Chipotle is about to take over.
