There are certain memories that stick with you forever in Amarillo, Texas. Like the memories of one of your favorite food places closing up and taking with them a dish that almost everyone in Amarillo loved and misses.

It hasn't even been ten years since Country Pride closed its doors back in April of 2016 but it still hurts. In those less than ten years a few restaurants have tried to duplicate their fan-favorite enchiladas.

The first one was Trail Boss on Western. They are no longer open either but I remember one of their special days to have those Country Pride Enchiladas. I left work and showed up to try them. The wait was too long to even get in for lunch. I think all of Amarillo was there. So I never got to try them.

Recently, I saw a post that another local restaurant has started to serve the Country Pride Enchiladas on Tuesdays. This is good news for everyone.

Where Can You Get Country Pride Enchiladas in Amarillo?

You can take the family and head to Home Plate Diner on Tuesdays to get your fix of the Country Pride Enchiladas. I have seen the reviews. As with everything else, people are up in the air on whether they are as good or not.

On Tuesdays, Homeplate Diner has enchiladas that are just like Country Pride used to be. Omg so good - Carol

We have some who say they taste as good. Some disagree. I bet if Country Pride, themselves, came back and made their enchiladas there would still be people complaining. Things change and tastes change too over the years. So do memories.

I was of course a fan of the enchiladas at Country Pride so don't be too surprised if you see me stop in at Home Plate Diner on a Tuesday just to put the debate to rest.
