Dasher Diary: How Do You Want Your Food Delivered in Amarillo?
When it comes to delivering food and other items in Amarillo it is a process. As a delivery driver, you make changes to make things more efficient. The name of the game is getting things delivered as soon as possible so the food is hot and fresh.
You want happy customers who get exactly what they ordered. You end up making sure you keep certain items on hand in your car, just in case. You stock up on napkins, straws, and silverware. It's always nice to be prepared.
You make sure you have delivery bags. My car has a small bag just for ice cream. A bigger insulated bag for smaller food orders, a large bag for large orders and a pizza bag. I also purchased a couple of sturdy, plastic drink holders. You learn the first time a flimsy drink holder provided by the restaurant collapses, and you lose all of the drinks.
Have you ever thought about how the delivery driver transports your food? Some delivery drivers have a bag they bring into the restaurant and then place the bag on the seat next to them to deliver to your place.
That is how I used to do my deliveries. Then I decided that I thought it looked better to have the food and drinks in a nice setup in my trunk. There is no worry on the customer's part that their food was tampered with. That was my thinking anyway. It's also where most people transport their groceries. So it made sense to carry the food that way too.
Then I saw a debate happening online. Some people said the front of the car was cleaner. Well, that depends really. Do you have your kids and pets up there at all? I am probably overthinking it but I want answers. Some customers don't care at all. I know that. I still want to know.
