One of the things about being a delivery driver here in Amarillo is I only do it when I have time. Some people use this line of work as their full-time job. I dash around my job here at the radio station.

You want to, if you can, make your work fun. I mean if it is something you dread every day you probably won't do it for very long. You probably won't be very good at it either. I try to make my time delivering fun.

In most restaurants that I pick up from, I end up either talking with the employees or other dashers. If you can get in friendly with the restaurant employees, it makes things easier. They do notice when you walk in, even if they are busy, it's nice to have that connection with them because they can help you when you are in a bind.

Sometimes you get those unusual deliveries that make your day a little bit of fun. I had one delivery that had funny drop-off directions. They wanted me to do a funny dance. I have heard about this before. So I contemplated whether I was going to do this or not. I mean why not? Have fun with it, especially if they have a Ring Doorbell.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to complete the request.  The customer met me outside. So I made a joke about it. I told him I had my whole dance ready to go. I think he forgot about those instructions but when he remembered he got a little embarrassed. He was a young kid so it may not have been his account. I was able to make him laugh, though.

Then, not twenty minutes later, I got another delivery to the same address but from a different Dasher account. So I went to the same restaurant, picked up the same food, and traveled to the same home. This time, a lady came out, and no dancing was required.

We had a laugh over the fact that I was just at this house. She said yes the first order made them hungry for the same food. So here I was again. Luckily going out to deliver food can be a lot of fun if you let it be.
