Donating Blood: A Halloween Treat That Saves Lives, Not Tricks!
October is a great time for being spooked. Everything spooky is cool. It's time for haunted houses, scary movies, and a lot of candy. Everyone is going around trying to find the perfect costume as well.
Halloween was Carla Contreras's favorite time of year. Well, that and Christmas. So of course with this being Carla's birthday time as well there is no better time to celebrate and remember her than now.
All it will take is about an hour of your time. Coffee Memorial Blood Center is hosting a blood drive in memory of Carla Contreras on October 10 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. It's the perfect time to come give the gift of life and remember that big infectious smile that Carla had.
When you walk in to donate you will no doubt see the wall of photos of Carla throughout her life. Even if you never had the pleasure to meet her before her passing you will feel like you knew her.
Carla wanted to make sure that everyone would give blood. She knew how important the blood supply was during her fight. She wanted to make sure that the blood supply would always be here in Amarillo for those in need.
That is why this blood drive is important in her memory. You can walk in or make an appointment. Either way, you will leave feeling great that you helped out. You will also leave with a Vein Drain t-shirt.
You can also help by bringing a toy as you donate. Carla has this one orphanage in Mexico that she really loves. So all the toys will go there to help make sure all of the kids have a Christmas. You can walk away with a free bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes as well.
Make sure you get by Coffee Memorial Blood Center on Tuesday, October 10th, and give the gift of life. You will be helping our blood supply and remembering Carla Contreras for her birthday.
