Dasher Diary: Drivers Just Got a New Way to Rate Customers After Every Delivery
Now that the holidays are past us in Amarillo, we can reflect a little more on everything that has happened. I continued to deliver for DoorDash through the holiday season. I didn't go crazy and work all of the time like I would have if my family were not here.
I was able to do a few deliveries here and there, but enough to keep my numbers where I would still be considered a Platinum Dasher. That is one of the things I make sure I maintain because then I can go out and deliver any time that I want without having to schedule.
The Platinum Dasher Requirements Explained
I wanted to still make some extra holiday money, so being Platinum was important. To be Platinum, you have to complete one hundred dashes in the previous thirty days and maintain an acceptance rate above eighty percent. Which can be tough, but I make sure I do that just so I can dash whenever I want.
New Driver Rating: Thumbs Up or Down
The other perk for Platinum is that you are supposed to get better-paying offers. I don't know if I really believe that. One change that happened before Christmas is a rating I started to see after every delivery.
It pretty much asked me how the delivery went. I could either give it a thumbs up or down. For the most part, I give them a thumbs up. One order I delivered where I noticed the customer didn't tip. So when they asked me how it went, I used the thumbs down.

The 'Earnings' Complaint Option for Zero Tips
Then they wanted to know why the delivery was that way. I sure wanted to see what my options were to select. So I am able to select either App issues, navigation issues, pick-up issues, drop-off issues, or earnings.
So far, I have only used it to select 'earnings' as my reason. A zero tip is a good time to complain and give a thumbs down for earnings. I can then go in and say that the customer didn't tip.
I am not sure if it goes anywhere after that, but it does make me feel better. I am glad that I get to complain about the customer even if it doesn't get me anywhere.
