Amarillo Seafood Spot Reveals Bold Name Change After 5 Years
A change is coming to an Amarillo restaurant. A name change at that. Just when you think everything is status quo, something like this happens. You would think that a restaurant that has been a part of the Amarillo community would be safe after five years.
Why the Name Change?
It seems that is not the case. Which is where the name change has come from. When they first opened in Amarillo, they were Mariscos El Big Boy. They were a food truck, and then they got a permanent location on Sixth.

They even had talks of getting a second location on Paramount. Even went as far as painting their logo on the building. After talking to them, they don't know if this new location is going to happen.
They are still on 6th and going stronger than ever. The food is so good. My family has been there a few times and always loves trying something new. I was surprised recently to see the news of their name change.
Hey Mariscos family! We have made a little change to our name! We are now MARISCOS EL VICTOR! Due to some legal issues, we were told to change our name, which we have had for the last 5 years!
Same Location, Same Menu
Five years of getting used to the new name, and now here we are with a new one. That is ok because they are still going to have the same great food, and that is what matters.
Although we are sad to have to change our name, we are ready for this new era. The first name “Victor” has been passed down 4 generations. This is the perfect name change for our restaurant. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON HERE AT MARISCOS EL VICTOR ENJOYING SOME OF THE BEST MARISCOS YOU CAN GET HERE IN THE 806.
What Remains Familiar for Diners
So if you have already given them a try, you know how good they are. If you are a little late to the game, it's ok, you are now in the know and need to give it a try. They do not disappoint. They are in the same great location - 2813 SW 6th - they just have a new name, Mariscos El Victor.
