We are just weeks away from Buc-ee's in Amarillo opening. That is big news. First, this was just a dream, a rumor, and now the reality is here. That does not put an end to new places coming to Amarillo. As we are working our way to the end of the year it is not ending without more big news.

This came straight from the store in Lubbock. What store? Ahh, that is coming. We have wondered since Camping World closed a bit ago, what is going to move into that location? Before Camping World it was Gander Mountain. So this property needs something along those lines. It's a perfect location.

So something is moving into this location that makes sense. Something that Amarillo has never had. It all started with a coworker who has been wanting to take a trip to Lubbock for several weekends now. It just kept not working until this past weekend.

She has a couple of places that she likes to go shopping that we don't have in Amarillo. When she was checking out this is when that news came out.

Hey, I'm at Bass Pro in Lubbock.  The cashier thanked me for being a loyal member. Told him since I live in Amarillo I come down once a year. He told me they are opening a Bass Pro in Amarillo. They are remodeling the old Gander Mountain store.

I reached out to the corporate office to get confirmation from more than one worker in Lubbock. As of right now, I have not had a response. Now, we do know that the workers seem to really know what is going on so I am not doubting this at all.

The location makes sense. It's right off I40. We will have Buc-ee's on I40 East and Bass Pro Shop on I40 West. I love how Amarillo is growing.
