The Spices Have Gone Cold: This Paramount Restaurant Just Packed Up the U-Haul
When it comes to restaurants in Amarillo, we have a lot of them. The downside to having so many options is that smaller gems often get lost in the shuffle. They open and try to succeed, but unless you stand out, things are not going to end well.
That is what happened with Flavors of India. They opened up in a building at I-40 and Paramount that has been several things over the years. It was a Sambo's, Pacos Tacos, El Tapatio, Fernandos, and El Bracero, to name a few.

Flavors of India opened up in late July last year, and I did see a lot of good reviews for them. The problem may have been that they were the third Indian eatery to join that specific corridor, making for a crowded market.
They were joining Indian Oven, which has been there forever, and Sai Indian Cuisine, which also opened up a year before this one. That is a lot of Indian Food on Paramount/Olsen Boulevard. That can make the task a little bit harder for a new restaurant.

One of the early reviews for Flavors of India
I would highly recommend Flavors Of India. They were courteous and welcoming, and the food was fresh and absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a good Indian food spot in Amarillo, this is a great place to try. -Courtney
The reviews looked promising, but maybe not enough people knew about them. They were active on their social media, so they were trying. Then, recently, there was an ad saying there was a location for lease. That building happens to be the location of Flavors of India.
4600 square feet restaurant with complete hood system, walk-in freezer and refrigerator, six burner commercial stove, reach-in refrigerator, stainless steel tables, 1000 gallon grease interceptor, and many other items included. -Omeral
Between that notice of that building being available and this message in the "Amarillo Restaurant Reviews....At Your Own Risk" page, it looks like they are history.
Looks like Flavors of India is history. U-haul truck out back and for rent sign in the window. - Glenn
The end of the road has come for Flavors of India in Amarillo. What started as a promising new place has closed its doors with just a U-Haul and a for rent sign in the window.
