There are those pinnacle moments in your life in Amarillo. Those tough decisions you have to go through. You think back on those years later and realize how big of a moment that really was in your life.

That happened to me the night before registration at Amarillo College. Back in the day, you had to go up there in person. You had to meet with your advisor or head of the department. My whole senior year, I couldn't decide "what I wanted to be when I grew up."

Friends from high school see it differently, insisting to this day that I was the only one who had their life completely mapped out. I certainly didn't feel that way.  It just happened that what I loved in high school, I was able to make into a career.

The night before registration, really, I had no clue. I had three different career paths.  Three distinct paths that would have taken me in completely different directions. I vividly remember Michael W. Smith's 'Place in This World' coming on the radio, and thinking, yep, that's exactly what I'm trying to figure out.

Somehow, when I went to registration at Amarillo College the next day, I signed up for Mass Communications with a focus on Radio and Television. Several decades later, here I am still on the radio.
