From Neil Diamond to Japanese Lullabies: The Wildest Free Concert in Amarillo
The music scene in Amarillo is something to really appreciate. We have a little bit of everything. You can head to Sixth and catch an act live over the weekend. There is also the opportunity to catch a show at the Globe News Center. You can even take a trip down to Canyon and enjoy a show at The Lumberyard.
The opportunities don't end there. If you want to head to a park or even churches around the area, you have the chance to catch some really great shows. One in particular is happening on Sunday, April 26, at 7 pm at The Church at Quail Creek. (801 Tascosa Rd).
If you are looking for something to do that doesn't involve a ticket price or a crowded bar, here is your chance. Since it is free, you can just bring your family and enjoy the talent we have right here in Amarillo.
A New Kind of Setlist: What is "Patron’s Choice"?
That talent is the Amarillo Wind Ensemble. They're a nonprofit community band, and their upcoming "Patron's Choice" concert is a little different than your average performance. Usually, a conductor chooses the songs, and you just show up and listen.

This time, they actually let their top supporters pick the playlist. It's basically a community-curated mixtape brought to life by a full wind band. What could be better?
From Japan to Ireland: Exploring the Eclectic Program
The lineup is honestly kind of wild in the best way possible. One minute you are listening to a beautiful, quiet Japanese lullaby, and the next, you're transported to a pub with Irish street ballads.
And just when you think you've got the vibe figured out, they change it all up on you with a tribute to Neil Diamond. It's eclectic and fun, exactly the kind of thing that makes our community feel like home.
