You never know what you are going to find when you do a little spring cleaning in Amarillo. I recently went through the process and wanted to declutter a little bit. That declutter took me on a journey through some great places in Amarillo.
It started me back to thinking about all of the great places we used to have in Amarillo. All of the stores that we used to shop to get our stuff. The Homeland's, the Albertson's, even the KMart's. All gone.
We have had a lot of great restaurants that are all gone now: Gardski's, Bennigan's, Harrigan's; just to name a few.
How about the fun stuff we used to have in town? We would go to FunFest. Hang out with our friends at the Block Party. We would take our family for a day of summer fun at Splash Amarillo.
Our city used to have two shopping malls but the tear down of Western Plaza left us with just one. Westgate Mall is still around but even that location has seen some major changes.

As I was cleaning out a junk drawer or two, I realized that I held on to a bit too much. Maybe I am a pack rat. I found all of these great Amarillo memories and I still couldn't force myself to toss it out.
You never know what memories you may find. My memories are mainly food-related. Not surprising at all. What would you find? We would love to know.
