Nothing makes you feel more hopeless than when you lose a pet. Whether they are escape artists like mine were. One runs out the door or jumps out of a car. The end is the same. Your family member is gone.

You will do anything to get them back home. One of the best things about social media is everyone is a dog lover. Everyone wants to jump in and help. Amarillo is great about that. Back in early June we found out about missing dog Cali. She needed meds. You shouldn't approach her.

I will be honest when I first saw everyone sharing I jumped to the conclusion that it was one of those scam posts. It was not. Jerry Lockhart was looking for his dog. He was not going to give up. Neither was Amarillo.

That is the beauty in all of this. The posts were being shared. Jerry was on the daily looking for his dog. Not only his dog but when he was given information he would follow up. A lot of other lost dogs were returned back home because of Jerry's lost dog, Cali.

It just was not Cali that was found. Oh, but nobody was giving up. It was shared all over the place. All of our lost dog sites jumped in to help. Jerry had enlisted the help of trackers to help find Cali.

She had to be found. She needed her medicine. There was an award offered. Cali had to be found. It's been a very long nearly three months. Jerry kept updating the situation. Still no Cali.

But there was hope. She was spotted several times.

That was until late last week. When she was found. Yes, finally Cali.

So if anything this teaches us to never lose hope. It may seem like things will not turn out the way you want but they can come around and surprise you. Jerry got Cali home and that really is all that anyone wanted.
