I get it we don't really care for the creepy crawlers. I know I sure don't. I won't run and shriek at the sight of most bugs. I will be the one that gets rid of the spiders for everyone else. Now that is not to say I am their biggest fans at all.

What do you do when you see a snake? Luckily living here in the Texas Panhandle I have not run across that issue. That is almost shocking. I feel though, if I do, I will be the one screaming like a little girl. I can say that and get away with it.

We all, though, should face our fears. Can we do that together? If you fear any of the following: snakes, tarantulas, opossums, and other creepy crawlers, then this is calling you out.

I have never even seen a possum until last winter. I came face to face with one in my backyard. Those are scary creatures. I know they are harmless and do a lot more good for us than harm. It just freaked me out when my dogs were trying to attack the one in my yard and the possum started hissing. So maybe I should face the opossum fear this weekend.

The Discovery Center is teaming up with the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center to help us all face our fears this Halloween season. Just head out to the Discovery Center, 1200 Streit Drive on Saturday. The hours are from 11am - 2pm.

They will teach you about all these creepy crawlers. The more you learn the more you will learn not to be afraid of them so much. I think we could all use a little more help in this area. The cost is free for Discovery Center Members. Non-members will be $14 for adults,  $11 for veterans/students/seniors and $9 for kids 1 year and up.

So this is a perfect time to face your fears and learn more about the slithering creatures and creepy crawlers we have grown to dislike.
