Amarillo’s Hoot’s Pub Finds New Life After Closing Announcement

What a difference a couple of days make in Amarillo. Sometimes for the good and sometimes not really. These couple of days really made things better for one local business.

Hoot's Pub was set to have its last show and close down as of September 27th. That news was confirmed by representatives of the owners of Hoot's Pub. We had a phone call about the closing. We talked about our memories of Hoot's, and we wondered if there was anything that could keep them open.

Could Hoot’s Pub Be Saved?

The one thing that was a possibility was someone taking over the lease and keeping everything the same. That was an option. It was what we wanted to have happen. We weren't sure if there was someone out there to make it work.

We asked if there was a possibility of someone coming in and taking over. They do not own the building, and the business is not trademarked. So, yes, someone can come in and lease the location and take over Hoot's Pub if that is what they want.

 

A Last-Minute Change of Plans

Early Sunday morning, I received some good news. A text came in that I wasn't expecting, but it was welcome.

Good news, Hoots isn’t closing down anymore, because someone else is taking over! We are so excited for someone else to have this adventure and wish them the best! 

So, of course, I wanted to know what happened, and it played out exactly how I thought. Someone is coming in and taking over. There will not be a lapse. It will be a seamless transfer, and the best part is that the show will go on.

The Future of Hoot’s Pub in Amarillo

It will still be Hoots, but it will have different owners. Everything else will be the same! 

Now we’re celebrating the fact that instead of closing at the end of the month, Hoot’s Pub will remain open. Now that the story has changed, we couldn't be happier. They are sticking around with new owners, and we are excited. We don't like to see anyplace close down in Amarillo.
