It's officially December in Amarillo, and that means everyone is out doing their holiday shopping and prepping for all the festivities that come with it.

Sure, doing the shopping can be stressful. You're chasing the best Black Friday deals and beyond, trying to get as much bang for your buck as you can get.

Help 4 The Holidays Is Back

However, there are a lot of people in Amarillo who aren't able to focus on holiday shopping. They're worried more about how they're going to keep the electricity on or the water running. With their money going to bills, there's nothing left to go around for Christmas gifts and holiday fun.

That's where Help 4 The Holidays comes in. Returning for its fourth year, Help 4 The Holidays teams up with over 20 local non-profit organizations right here in Amarillo to give back and make the holidays special for everyone.

What Is Help 4 The Holidays

It's an event that is completely driven by YOU; we are just the vessel. We know times are tight for everyone; they have been for a while. However, you come out in droves to help the community each year. As we begin year four of this drive, we have seen it grow bigger each year. Your generosity to help those in Amarillo is astounding.

We've seen people who have brought truckloads, and I mean truckloads, of items to donate. We've also seen those who said, "I had an extra $20 this pay period and just wanted to help someone out" come by. That's the beauty of this event. Even those who are struggling themselves come out and help.

How Can I Donate & What Do You Need

Let's start with what we need. We need everything. If you can walk into a Walmart and see it, we need it. Things from shampoo and conditioner to clothes to arts and crafts supplies to diapers...I can't stress diapers enough. It's on the list that you can look at here.

Grab a few things off it and drop by the old Vexus building in Wolflin Square, 2221 I-40 Frontage Rd, right next to Ehle. We will be out here all week, Monday through Sunday, from 7 am to 7 pm, collecting those items and getting them to those who need them. No matter the weather, and it's FREEZING today, we will be here. We'd love to see you.
