We're always looking for different ways to support our schools here in Amarillo, and now we've got a good one coming that doesn't just support the school, but it saves lives on top of it.

I mean, how can you pass up the opportunity to do two amazing things at once, with minimal stress to you?

You can't, and the community needs you. Starting February 1, Kids Inc. Donor Days officially gets underway and runs through March 31st. This is one of their signature events, and typically it's a big one.

It's no secret that the need for blood is at an all-time high right now, simply because there have been less and less donors. How can you say no to the kids though?

Here's the deal. Head over to Coffee Memorial Blood Center at 7500 Wallace Blvd. or hit up any of their mobile blood drives during that time period, register your donation to a particular school, and get yourself hooked up to the needle.

There are five different school categories that can all win some much needed funding for their schools, but it's all dependent on you. So how does the money get distributed? Whichever school ends up with the most donors is the winner. Seems pretty simple right?

Elementary schools can land $1,000 cash along with $1,000 in Dugger Dollars for any Kids Inc. sport. With elementary schools, there will also be a prize of $500 in Dugger Dollars for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

The winning middle school will find themselves winning a cool $1,500. High schools? Well there are three categories here, and they'll all win $2,000 a piece. Small high school/private school is a category, as are medium and large high schools.

it gets even better. Any 2025 graduating senior that donates blood during the time period will qualify themselves for a chance to win one of four $1,000 scholarships they can use towards any university, community college, trade or technical school.

Oh yeah, you'll get a pretty sweet t-shirt yourself for donating.
