Amarillo Race Event Pits Drivers Against Local Law Enforcement

If you have ever wanted to go head-to-head with an Amarillo cop, here's your chance. If you're tired of getting pulled over for speeding, you can now show off your speed to a cop. But beware, that cop just might be faster than you.

What Is Race-A-Cop?

The annual Race-A-Cop is back, benefiting Student Crime Stoppers of Amarillo. The event will take place on Saturday, July 11, at the Amarillo Dragway.

If you're tired of running from the cops, this encounter will not end with you going to jail, because this race is legal. It'll either end with you or the cop having bragging rights.

You'll race on a 1/4-mile drag strip.

Race-A-Cop Event Details and Schedule

If you think you're fast enough to beat some of Amarillo's local law enforcement, then here is your chance. Tech cards are $25.

Gates for the Race-A-Cop open at 6 pm. The Test and Tune portion of the evening is 6-9 pm, and the race begins at 9 pm.

Admission and Pricing

Cost to watch the event is $10 per person; kids 12 and under get in free. First responders and the military also get in free with their ID. Proceeds benefit Student Crime Stoppers of Amarillo.
