New Wolflin Ave Shop Spotlights 15+ Women-Owned Businesses
A new shopping experience is coming to Amarillo. This new business is a collective, but it's not just a group of vendors. It is a business that is bringing women business owners together.
The Golden Collective will be opening its doors on Saturday, August 29, and giving Amarillo a chance to shop and support women-owned businesses.
How the Golden Collective Got Started
The Golden Collective started with three small business owners who would do pop-ups around the area. Then one of the owners, Emily, had an idea: "Why don't we work with other women-owned businesses to all support one another?" From there, Emily, Taryn, and Graham came together and created The Golden Collective. Each one knew how hard it was to own a small business and knew the challenges women face as small business owners.
Small businesses are hard, and being a woman-owned small business can be even harder.
From Pop-Ups to a Permanent Storefront
The Golden Collective started off as a networking group, helping other small women-owned businesses learn how to find and participate in vendor events, and how to market their business on social media. Then Emily shared the idea of opening a storefront to help out these great businesses.
The goal isn't simply to create a place to shop, but a place where entrepreneurs can find support and take some of the stress out of starting a business.
The Golden Collective is located at 2809 Wolflin Ave. They will be hosting a grand opening celebration with a ribbon-cutting on Saturday, from 4:30-8:30 pm. Over 15 women-owned businesses are represented inside the store.
