A Fresh Start on Western: The New Eatery Finally Replacing the Drama-Plagued Potato Factory

There is no way to recover the business from that, even when they tried to say they were under new owners. They just couldn't and didn't stay open. The building has sat empty since then.
Recently, there were some trucks seen on the property, and now there is a banner up letting us know that a new place is moving in. If you’ve missed stopping in for your favorite spud, you’re in luck.
What is a Jacket Potato? British Tradition Meets Texas Toppings
The banner simply says "Jacket Potato Coming Soon" along with their website. I mean, if you are going for the people who miss the good ol' potatoes served in that location, you hit the jackpot.
According to their site, they explained what a jacket potato actually is:
The toppings really do seem like they are gearing up for the Texas fan base:
We're talking BBQ brisket, queso, jalapeños,onions, bacon, sour cream — over 30 toppings across three tiers. Pick your base, load it up your way, and walk out with something that's equal parts comfort food and customized masterpiece.
The result? A build-your-own baked potato joint that's fast, affordable, endlessly customizable, and unlike anything Amarillo has seen before.
How to Get Notified: Signing Up for the Jacket Potato Grand Opening
You can head to the website and sign up to be notified when they are close to opening. That is what I did. So now we just wait. Wait for the potatoes we have missed without all of the drama. Amarillo is ready.
