‘Hey Amarillo’ Podcast Concludes, Leaving Legacy in Amarillo, Texas
If you have been around Amarillo for any time, you know the name Jason Boyett. You probably have also heard about his podcast 'Hey Amarillo'. If not, you have some catching up to do.
'Hey Amarillo, ' according to Jason, is more than just a podcast to him:
It’s a love letter to this city and the people who make Amarillo what it is, so thank you for listening.
'Hey Amarillo' is where you could turn to and learn all about people and places around our great city. Every episode, he would talk to someone who knows Amarillo. People who could teach you the ins and outs of places in our town. You met new people, new places, and new activities.
The Years of 'Hey Amarillo' Has Come to an End
By the end of the podcast, you have learned something. You have made a new friend. That is what Jason did with each and every episode. Those podcasts have come to an end for now. According to Jason:
After seven amazing years and more than 400 conversations, I’ve decided to bring my time on Hey Amarillo to a close.
He did not rule out the possibility that the podcasts could come back in the future. He will probably start missing us, to be honest. He will miss the chats. Or Jason will just find someone to take over. Someone who will bring him in for a chat every now and then.
One realization with his podcast ending is the people we have lost:
The show holds a special place for a lot of people for a lot of reasons.
And while my time on the show is ending, Hey Amarillo may continue in the future. Don't unsubscribe just yet, and stay tuned for what's next.
Until then, Amarillo is going to have to find a new way to stay up to date on all things Amarillo. We will miss Jason and his conversations. Maybe Jason will now find time to start that political career I hinted at years ago.
