It was over a year ago when we first learned about an Amarillo author's upcoming Netflix series. I mean this is huge for our area. Someone from Amarillo wrote a book, a good book, and Netflix decided to make a series out of it.

The author, Jodi Thomas, who was once an Amarillo High School teacher and has found success as an author has something to be proud of. The best part is that this series that we first told you about in early 2024 is not about to hit the streaming service.

I received an email from the author herself:

I just wanted to update you on Ransom Canyon. It is scheduled to air on April 17 on Netflix.
As you can imagine, I am both nervous and excited, and I hope you'll be watching this month.
Thanks,
Jodi
So the wait is almost over for this Netflix series starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly. It's being compared to both "Virgin River" and "Yellowstone". Not a bad couple of series to be compared to. Sounds like a win already.
April is going to be huge already with stuff going on in our city but now add this to it. It's less than a month away but you still have time to get to reading. You can find Jodi's books locally at Barnes & Noble or pick them up online HERE.
Ransom Canyon will hit Netflix on April 17th but you can check out a sneak peak now. I know what I will be doing on April 17th and I hope all to the Texas Panhandle and every Netflix subscriber joins me.
