Vacant No More: Amarillo, Texas, Building Begins New Chapter
It's great to drive around Amarillo and watch as old spaces start to get new faces. We see a business close and hopefully, at some point, another business moves in to start its successful run. It's the circle of Amarillo business life.
We have seen it time and time again. One business has to close in order for a new one to come in and get it going again. There is one building on Paramount that has had a few changes over the years.
When I first moved into Amarillo this building was Ruby Tequila's. It was a purple building and had a glassed in kitchen so you could watch them make tortillas. It was great. When they moved into new building on Georgia Street it was empty.
Then it changed into being part of the Joe's properties: Macaroni Joe's, Joe Taco, this building turned into Joe Daddy's. When they closed it was empty again. It was a very short lived club more recently called Club Nova. That didn't last long at all.

Now the building is buzzing again with signs going up and work being done. The sign recently went up letting us know that it is the future home of Joe's Place. No, I can't tell right now if this is related to all of the other Joe's properties again. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was.
Joe's Place has a social media presence which is a big help. You can follow along as well.
What exactly is Amarillo's Joe's Place?
It's an event center but then there is more. It is a place that can host your event for up to three hundred people. It's also a place where if you need a big kitchen to cook a lot of food for an event or even to help at a food truck, you can use their services. According to their social media:
Joe’s Place Amarillo is your solution for kitchen space and services. Prep/cook/storage/waste. We also double as an event venue suited for up to 300 people.
So as you are busy planning big events in the future this may be a place to keep in mind. It looks like they will be open and ready to go soon.
