Amarillo has been known for long-standing events that don't go away.

Each year, we can expect to see certain things on the calendar, and this year is no different.

Las Fiestas de Amarillo 2022 has been announced, and it'll be the 41st installment of the event.

Happening July 16-17 at the Our Lady of the Guadalupe Church found at 1210 SE 11th Ave, this year's event will provide fun for the entire family.

This year the fun kicks off on July 16th at noon and won't wrap up until Sunday at 10 pm. Plenty of time and options to get there right?

So what can we expect to see at the event this year? There will be a parade, plenty of food booths for you to whet your appetite, games for everyone, live entertainment (to be announced), and a silent auction that you'll surely find SOMETHING you want to bid on.

This has been a highly attended event in Amarillo for years, and with the COVID concerns beginning to dwindle, this year will undoubtedly be the same.

The event is typically put on by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amarillo each year, but I haven't seen if they're the ones organizing it in 2022.

So how much will it cost to get in? That depends on when you decide to attend. According to officials at the church, the event will be free for everyone all day July 16 and for most of the day July 17th.

Once the clock strikes 7 pm on July 17 though, anyone over the age of 14 will be required to pay $7 to get in.
