One of the most joyous things in life is when your children are born. I would know, I have three of them. Each one goes down as one of the best days of my life. That moment you find out you're pregnant, you start planning.

The nursery, your life, and how you're going to have the baby. There are several different options out there, and the most popular ones are at a hospital or by bringing in a midwife. I understand, sometimes having the baby at home is the most comforting way to do it.

When you're searching for the perfect midwife, you have to be careful. You want to make sure you get someone who's been doing this for a long time and shows a perfect record of helping you through the process of delivery.

You also want to make sure your midwife is licensed and has been through all the proper training. Unfortunately, an Amarillo woman has duped quite a few people in the city.

Leah Hernandez has been accused of operating a midwife business without the proper licensing, and a temporary restraining order has been placed on her and her business, Dolce Vita Midwifery.

This isn't the first time Hernandez has been found practicing negligently. Back in 2020, she was fined $3,500 for practicing with an expired license. Yes, you have to renew these just like a driver's license.

She is currently being investigated by the Randall County Sheriff's Office and has a hearing date set for March 21st.
