Amarillo Favorite Malcolm’s Just Made Dining Out Cheaper
You can't help but notice prices climbing everywhere in Amarillo. The prices of your favorite things around Amarillo keep going up. To be fair, it's not just Amarillo. It is everywhere. The price you pay at the grocery store is higher. The cost when you go out to eat is much more than you remember. You need a full tank of gas? That costs more now, too.
The idea of getting good news somewhere is what we need. It would be great to have something stay the same. Even better would be finding out that the price of something is going down.

Does that seem like it's a pipe dream? The days of low prices may be behind us. That's not the news anyone wants to hear. Long gone are the days of heading to the store and getting a lot of impulse buys. You have a list and you stick to it.
Why Lower Prices Matter Right Now
When it comes to going out to eat, you may plan your outings by the day of the week. You know it's Tuesday, so you look for Taco Tuesday deals. Any way that you can save money is much appreciated right now.
The Return of Malcolm’s: A Local Favorite Reborn
That is why when Malcolm's Ice Cream and Food Temptations announced cutting the price of their kids' meals, it made a lot of us in Amarillo happy. First of all, it's Malcolm's. We love Malcolm's. The community was disappointed when they closed last year. Getting new ownership and those doors open was one of the best things about 2024.
Now in 2025, they are helping the family budget according to their social media post:
Okay Amarillo, we at Malcolm's Ice Cream & Food Temptations are reducing our kids' meals for the remainder of the summer break! Bring the kids and they get a drink, the meal and a single scoop for $4.50 until school starts for kids 12 and under.
So we can rejoice in Amarillo. Finally, somewhere you can go where the price has gone down on something. Yes, my family has already talked about stopping in. We love Malcolm's and love the fact that a kids' meal is not going to cost us nearly ten dollars.
A Small Win for Amarillo Families
Plus, we just really love their jalapeno bites.
