
Mystery Tenant: Who’s Moving Into Newly Leased Amarillo Building?
Amarillo's restaurant world got a bit emptier with the closing of Sumo back in December. A lockout note on the door and a permanently closed listing on Google is all we had left of this once good place in our city.

They tried to walk away by putting the business up for sale. That sale also required the new owner to take over the lease as well. That never happened and the building has sat empty since then.

It looks like there will be new life to the location that once housed King and I for many years. The good news is it looks like we will be getting a new place to eat. Amarillo is always ready for that.
Who is Moving Into the Former Sumo Location?
That part is still a mystery according to a recent social media post. It has leased though, which is the good news we needed to hear. According to the real estate listing social post:
Kirk Chudej has successfully leased 2300 Bell Suite 9 a 2nd generation restaurant space, in Amarillo TX. Kirk represented the landlord on the negotiation of the 3,347 square foot retail space in SW Amarillo.
There will be a new restaurant coming soon to this space, so keep an eye out for their grand opening!
