I was thinking about my New Year's resolutions last year, and they honestly sound dumb and a little childish. They were the usual "Top 10 List" type of resolutions.

This year, I have a feeling our resolutions are going to be a little different.

Appreciate The Little Things More

By little things, I mean individual squares of toilet paper. Most of this year felt like an episode of 'Twilight Zone,' but nothing was more confusing than the toilet paper shortage of 2020. People were buying it up like it was land in California during the Gold Rush.

Put Away Social Media For A Little Bit

Maybe 2021 is the year that we step back a bit and get back to in-person relationships instead of keeping up with the Joneses through a tiny screen. There have been several studies done regarding the amount of time we stare at a screen, and that amount of time has ballooned in 2020.

Let's make 2021 the year we use our phones to make phone calls to loved ones more than we use them to type insults to strangers on the internet.

Stop Trying To Figure It All Out

Conspiracy theories went mainstream this year. If there wasn't one regarding a specific topic in 2020, you just had to give it five minutes and check back. In 2021 maybe we should stop trying so hard to turn absolutely everything into an Alfred Hitchcock film and just enjoy life.

Keep In Touch

This year has been a tough one for several reasons. Among those reasons, is the number of people we've lost along the way. Personally, I've lost count of the number of people I know who have died in 2020. In 2021, let's all remember to be kind and keep in touch. If I've learned anything this year, it's that you never know which chance was your last.
