No Thanksgiving Dinner? Here’s A Few Open In Amarillo On Turkey Day.
It's one of the hardest things in the world to do.
Spending Thanksgiving alone. I should know, I've had to do it before. I was miserable.
It was truly impossible finding a restaurant serving up a Thanksgiving menu, and it was even tough to find a decent restaurant open. I ended up settling for steak...on Thanksgiving.
If you find yourself without anywhere to go for Thanksgiving, and don't feel like cooking yourself, here's a few restaurants open on the holiday for you to indulge in.
THE BIG TEXAN
Ok, so this Amarillo staple is hands down going to be your best bet when it comes to landing yourself Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant. Every year, The Big Texan does a Thanksgiving buffet, and this year is no different. Complete with turkey, mashed potatoes and all the fixings you can think of. $24.99 for adults, $16.99 for kids aged 4-10, you're going to get to stuff your face silly with all your holiday favorites.
BUFFALO WILD WINGS
Now, I'll preface this by saying most, not ALL B-Dub locations are open on Thanksgiving, so you'll want to check with your nearest one first. If they are open, feel free to go in and stuff your face with the OTHER bird. When turkey isn't available, the next best thing is chicken wings and a bunch of different beers on tap. I wish I would've had this option the year I had to spend Thanksgiving alone without the traditional dinner.
APPLEBEE'S
Here's another one on the list where you'll want to call ahead and be sure they're open locally, but Applebee's is another great option. Why? Because the ones that are open will be serving up a special holiday menu, meaning you'll be able to get those special items everyone else is munching away on. With it being so tough to find Thanksgiving dinner at restaurants, the ones that give you the option for it should be at the top of your list.
WAFFLE HOUSE, IHOP, DENNY'S
These well known "breakfast" places are typically ALWAYS open, no matter the holiday it seems. If you want to do a complete reversal of cuisine, one of these 3 places are definitely your best option. While everyone is ripping apart a turkey, you could be grubbing on some waffles, omelets or any other breakfast favorite. As always, be sure to check in with your local restaurant JUST to be sure the doors are open for you. Nothing worse than getting there and realizing they're closed for the day.
